Want 2 points on your health inspection?

I am not sure about other states but in North Carolina we value sanitation when it comes to food handling.  So much so that the Health department gives you 2 points on your inspection if you have someone ServSafe certified on the clock. Here is the exact wording.

2-102.12; At least one employee who has supervisory and management responsibility and the authority to direct and control food preparation and service shall be a certified FOOD protection manager who has shown proficiency of required information through passing a test that is part of an American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-ACCREDITED PROGRAM (such as ServSafe)

Now, I know us North Carolinian's have all kinds of opinions about education but at least it is valued when it comes food safety.  I am sure you are also wondering what other establishment's should have this training. 

• Schools
• Restaurant's
• Child Care Facilities
• Nursing Homes
• Hospital's
• Food Truck's/Cart's
• Gas Station's that serve food

So just a thought, do you look for health inspection at the gas station?  When you drop your child off at school, do you know their score? How about the tasting lunch spot at the food truck, is it in there somewhere?
